The Lionheart Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K Run is a benefit event with a mission.  The beneficiary is the Woodward Lions Club.  The Lions Club is a 501(c)3 non profit who's mission is to provide annual scholarships to local high school students, provide eyeglass assistance to local Woodward citizens in need, annually donate to the Woodward United Fund, Woodward County Christmas Toy Giveaway, Woodward Arts Theater, and more.  We are an affilate of the International Association of Lions  Clubs.

HALF MARATHON 6:30 a.m.

Awards for overall male and female half marathon finisher. Finisher medals for all half marathon finishers.  Standard age group medals for top 3 finishers.  Short sleeve soft style t-shirts for all entrants. 

 

Course has some rolling moderate hills for the first 4 miles and mostly flat after that.  There will be traffic on the course with law enforcement on the course monitoring traffic.

 

Walkers welcome, with an expected finish time in the approximate 3 hour range  (15 minutes per mile or under).


Course will be open for 3 hours or whenever the last runner/walker crosses the finish line

Packet pickup will be at Woodward Wellness Center-1918 22nd St. Woodward, OK from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday May 19, and also the morning of the race at 5:30 am at the start/finish area in Boiling Springs State Park (main picnic pavillion, just south of the swimming pool)

Course is the same start and finish as the half marathon. There will be a turn around for the 10K runners at about the 4.5 mile mark on the the half marathon course

5K Run  8:00 a.m.
Awards for overall male and female. Finisher medals for all finishers.  Standard age group medals for top 3 finishers.  Short sleeve soft style t-shirts for all entrants. 
 
5K Course is all within the park with a few rolling hills.  Very little to no traffic in the park at this time.  Park Rangers will be monitoring course and there will be volunteers directing runners.  One water station at approximatley the half way point in the race.

PARTICIPANT SUPPORT

Restrooms at start/finish and porta potties at 2 locations on the half marathon/relay course.   2 water stops on the 5k course and 6 water stop opportunities on the half marthon/relay course.  Food and drinks for all race participants post race.
